London is the capital of britain & one of the world's leading financial, business and cultural centres. as well as this, the city's influence on politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion & culture make it a major global city.

London has 4 World Heritage Sites, which are westminster palace, Westminster Abbey & St. Margaret's Church, the Tower of London, historical Greenwich, & the royal botanic gardens in kew.

In 1863, increasing traffic congestion on roads in london led to the construction of the world's first underground railway system, the london underground.

The city was bombed badly over the second world war & many people died. after the war, many buildings in the city had to be built again.

After the second world war, immigration transformed London into one of the most racially & culturally diverse cities in Europe. Immigration was not always smooth, as there were major race riots in notting hill and brixton, but intergration was certainly smoother than in other british regions.

Because it's the capital of great britain, London has the best museums in the country. One of the best is the Science Museum, which is situated in south kensington. The museum was formed in 1857 & has more than 300 000 exhibits, which include Puffing Billy & Stephenson's Rocket.

The city has many of wonderful art galleries too, which include the National Portrait gallery.

From quirky markets to designer shops, London has some superb shopping opportunities.

Oxford street is generally regarded as the best shopping street in the uk. The street has topshop's renowned flagship shop, in addition to a huge Selfridges, which was established there in 1909. recently, a huge Primark shop opened on the street & it has proved really popular with shoppers.

London is renowned for its exclusive cocktail bars, nightclubs & theatres. One of the most well-known nightclubs is Fabric , which is located in Leicester Square. This massive night club has a 1600 capacity & it attracts some massive name DJs, especially on Fridays when it holds its famous Fabric Live event.

Another marvellous night club is Ministry of Sound, which is located in Southwark.
