More Vacations in Jamaica

More Vacations at Dutch W. Indies

The Dutch W. Indies, which is sometimes referred to as the Netherlands Antilles, is a wonderful place for more vacations. It is not surprising since the Dutch W. Indies is just made up of two groups of islands. The first group is made up of Curacao and Bonaire, which are just near the Venezuelan coast. The second group is made up of Sint Eustatius, Saba and Sint Maarten, which are in the southeast of the Virgin Island. Given this very island-y setup, it is no wonder that people flock into the Dutch W. Indies for more vacations. In fact, tourism is one of the top industries in the Dutch W. Indies, along with international finance, shipping and petroleum.

In a few months time, the five islands will be separate governing entities, under the dissolution of the federation of Dutch W. Indies by December 2008. Under the agreement, Curacao and Sint Maarten will become autonomous regions of Netherlands; while the rest will become cities of Netherlands.

Of the Dutch W. Indies islands, Sint Maarten probably enjoys the most attention, with the number of tourist flocking the place for more vacations. The Dutch W. Indies island is known to be the best place for more vacations, shopping and just about anything you can think of doing on a holiday.

At the Dutch W. Indies island of Sint Maarten, you can enjoy countless of water activities. You can go sailing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, body-boarding and just about everything else. You can even go Kite-surfing or Fly-surfing. There are available lessons for all these water activities.

The daredevils will also enjoy the opportunity to do a parachute jump. Or, if you want something closer to the ground, you can go mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding. Nothing compares to this kind of excitement during your days of more vacations

Else, you can opt to go to the museums for a little culture and history. There are art galleries you can visit. You can also go on land tours of nearby islands.

And of course, do not forget the Sint Maarten beaches, which are perhaps , the island's best attractions. In total, the island has thirty seven beaches for all its thirty-seven square mile land. The ambience at the beach is nothing but pure paradise. You get a variety of cuisine, from fun food like pizzas and burgers to local Caribbean cuisine. Shakes and cocktails abound, while you lie on your beach chairs for a little tan.

There are commercial beaches and semi secluded beaches, to suit your need for privacy. There are even nude or topless beaches in Sint Maarten if that's your thing.

If what makes your heaven is great food, then you'll find it in the island. Sint Maarten is known as the Gastronomic Capital of the Caribbean. It has more than three hundred restaurants, serving a variety of cuisine. You can have simple and delicious barbecued ribs and chicken, or you can go for exquisite French cuisine. It all depends on your whim and wishes. Else, you can opt for extraordinary Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Japanese, Indian and Tex-Mex cuisine. It really depends on what your hearts (and stomachs!) desire.

ever repeat themselves once. Bon Appetit!
