The Seven Wonders Tour

In my capacity as Director of Operations of the United Kingdom for One World Tours Limited, I am often asked about the destinations that I have been and how it all began in the first place. 10 years ago, I began my second trip around the world, and I suppose you could say that this is where it all really began. I decided to visit the Seven Wonders of the World in eight days. First I had to decide what constitutes in fact the Seven Wonders of the World at the end, has developed the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Golden Gate Bridge, The Empire State Building and the Sydney Opera House pyramids of Egypt. This places a notch staggering 42000 miles in just 8 days. The airlines and a string of major hotels the world thought this would be an excellent promotion sponsored stunt and the whole trip so that all flights and accommodation is free. Sounds like a brilliant limited huh? But nothing was guaranteed and my fate is entirely in the hands of the airlines. So on the first leg of the trip (Feb. 18), India and the Taj Mahal, I realized that I was in waiting for tickets, and began to wonder if the trip start at all. I think that once I saw the beautiful stewardess Indian elegantly wrapped in red and gold sari, I knew that my trip was begun.Arriving at Delhi airport and in order to continue to the next stage of the journey, I had to find out how many would cost a taxi to take me to Agra and back to see the Taj Mahal. Eventually I was inaugurated to a driver ready to try to take me 300 miles in about 8 and a half hours for the price of £ 130. I remember the name of the driver and the journey to Agra very striking. Ashok, behaving like a madman, honking his horn and driving towards oncoming traffic on dual carriageways, to help me finish my mission. On reach the Taj Mahal, I was very impressed by the superb creation of love who stood before me, certainly Things that are made of fairies! I did not have too much time, 15 minutes, so I quickly made taking photographs of the beauty in front of me which was intended to advertise the sponsors. I took enough pictures to prove that I was there, with a double set in the first instance, those who are not going out, then still a chance for a lot! The sun was beginning to set and it gave all around this wonderful glow orange, a fitting end to a brief but memorable experience.Well high-speed drive back was even more goosebumps as we have done everything again, but this time the Dark! On the second day of the visit was to be the most frequently dominated by flights. I left Bombay after 6 hours to get to Hong Kong (stopover in Bangkok), about 3.15pm. Then I had to take another flight to Beijing to arrive at 9pm that night. I was lucky to discover the beauty of flying at night in Beijing with the added bonus of the beautiful fireworks in celebration of their new year. The hotel, the Tianlun Dynasty Hotel was very intense affair with the staff speaks limited making it almost impossible to try to arrange a taxi to pick me up at 4 o'clock in the morning, to take me at the Great Wall My next destination. Then I had to take a flight from Beijing to go to Sydney at 11.30! With little communication it is very difficult to get exactly what it was that I wanted and I had to do drawings to communicate. To be honest, I did not see much of the Great Wall because it was still dark being so early in the morning! Back at the airport from Beijing to Shanghai rather than directly in Sydney as I had expected. The Qantas crew were very lively, and I suppose it is because there was almost no one else on the flight so they can let their hair a bit. I have even been invited to sit in the cockpit, we have to land and Shanghai.I arrived at Sydney Airport at about 6:30 on Feb. 21. It is all too obvious that I would not be using a hotel until the next day in San Francisco, so I decided to leave my luggage stored at the airport. I had a whole day to kill in Sydney and the first thing I did was to take a bus to Sydney Harbour. I took a lot of pictures of the Opera House and its surroundingsTo waste a little time, I went on a cruise on the harbour. I found it very hard to stay awake, travel in the region over the past few days has finally catch up with me. I left Sydney Airport about 40 minutes later than planned. It was a bit worrying because I was supposed to be making a connecting flight to Los Angeles, an hour and a half after my arrival! There was a problem with the next part of the trip. When I had originally planned the trip, I remembered that the international dateline was passed, which means that although having left Paris on the evening of February 21, I would be arriving in San Francisco in the post - noon of February 21! Those who have refurbished the original timetable has not taken this into account. Indeed, it meant that I would finish a day earlier than expected, it also meant that I did not have anywhere to stay that night, as I was not booked at the hotel until that the following evening! It actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I had missed the flight anyway. I finally reached San Francisco in the early evening and took a taxi to the Hotel Intercontinental. After completing my sleep during the flight, and feeling more refreshed now in the shower I felt alert enough to the experience of San Francisco at night. Thee streets were incredibly steep and I wondered how the devil parked cars managed to stay in place. After have a good night? Sleep, I got up early and I took a taxi to the Golden Gate Bridge. I took the necessary photographs and treated myself to an ice cream. As I sat admiring the scenery, I heard someone mention that they could see Alcatraz in the distance. I had no idea until then that Alcatraz was so close and I had a whole day to lose up to my next flight, I decided that the visit Alcatraz was not the worst way spend the day. Having missed the start of the afternoon, I decided that I would take the three-hour evening tour. I was very excited at the prospect of a visit to Alcatraz was to be an unexpected bonus, to say the least! None of the so-called wonders gave me such a rush. I had seen the Taj, Sydney Opera House, The Great Wall, The Golden Gate Bridge, but I could not believe that I was going to Alcatraz! I was allowed to stand in isolation cells and I think that this is a very strange experience. You can still feel the history that the place was infiltrated "I saw the yard and the dining room and a grand finale heard the guardians of the cell doors slam shut. It was dark when I left the island and San Francisco was really beautiful at night. I flew from San Francisco, at about 12:30 pm and touched down in New York at 9pm. I lifted early and traipsed the streets of New York somewhere in the search for their breakfast, then headed toward the Empire State BuildingI off at Battery Park and caught a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Then JFK airport in New York, he was back in London. The flight to London was scheduled to arrive at 6:20 the next morning. It was 40 minutes late and arrived at 7 o'clock instead. I had to take a taxi from Heathrow Gatwick form to the theft of 10 hours in Pisa. It seems very strange to be back in England, so much had happened in so short a time. I arrived in Italy at 2.45pm and I had a beautiful view of the Swiss Alps as I had been sitting near the window again on this flight. I left the airport and took a taxi to the hotel Granduca which was nestled in the Italian campaign and was very pleasing to the eye, after New York. After a quick shower, I took a taxi to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa where I took the pictures. He did not? T seem possible that I was present at Pisa hours before when I was in New York. It was very difficult to take in the last few days.I was to be up at 6 o'clock to catch a flight back to Gatwick. It was about 6:30 when I fell to sleep. Malaria pills that I had to be taken must be taken at the right time and once a week, I had to take an extra one. Can you imagine how difficult it is with all the different times I had been through assure you that when I had to take them? I had set my alarm clock to make sure I took at the right time. I woke up at 12am with a beginning, took my pills and I remember telling myself that I should not? T gone to bed so early that I never go back to sleep now! The next thing I knew it was 5:30, the next morning. This was certainly the most sleep I had had a stroke since I had left home. I was a little disappointed that I had stayed beyond my time in Italy, I needed to revitalize sleep myself. When I arrived at Gatwick, I took the bus rapid return to Heathrow, the place for me the journey began. It appeared that I had received a four and half hour wait until the flight to Cairo. It was the longest four hours of travel. Finally, the number came to the door and I look forward to where I expected I would be leaving for the most exciting part of the journey, the only bit that I was really looking forward to. I discovered that I was waiting for tickets and that the flight had been oversold of 50 tickets. I had resigned myself that I would not go to another stage was further. There only a handful of people left on board the aircraft and about ten minutes to go until the plane was to leave. I had been waiting for more than four hours and is not even sure if there was anything to wait! I even asked if I had someone to ring to pick me to take home. I landed at the scheduled time of 11:15 on February 26. I not? T get a real look at Egypt until the following day. Once reserved for our hotel, it has been very hard for me to sleep that night because he was like a kid on Christmas Eve, trying to force myself to go to sleep but being too excited to do it. The young hotel doorman asked if I had stayed in this hotel before. When I said no, he pulled along the curtains open like a minor star unveiling of a plaque. The modern city of Cairo was beyond in all its glory as beautiful as any city by nightfall. The curtains open exposed a long balcony on which I have been offered to the stage. The young man seemed proud to show me the splendid view of the river Nile. I could have benefited from the view of the whole night, but I knew that if did not? T get a good night's sleep I not? T be able to take advantage of my time in Egypt for the entire next day. I felt sad to see the advertising of coke lighting up the evening sky in a country steeped in history so magical. He seemed somewhat too commercial and disrespectful. I photographed the astonishing sphinx. The pyramids are absolutely breathtaking. I could not believe that I was only a few feet from them. I had imagined this moment so many times in the past. It had everything that I always dreamed of and more. I wanted to go to the museum to see Tutankhamun? With mask and after entering the museum, I was absolutely blown by the exhibitions that I had previously only seen in reference books. As I lay my eyes on the mask I found Was most breathtaking breath than I could ever have imagined. In the evening, I returned to the pyramids to see the sound and light show and I must say that it was perfect to put an end to an amazing journey. A dream come true.I had to wake up early to catch the 8:45 flight to London. And here. I caught the bug bon voyage and good and I wanted other people to share it!
