The Political Particulars Of Barcelona

The population wise, Barcelona is the largest city in Spain with the sole exception of Madrid. The capital of Catalonia, the city is governed and managed by the city council of Barcelona who works within the broader framework of the Spanish Constitution and the Statute of Autonomy catalan, and the European Union Laws.Spain is composed of autonomous communities which are organized into a parliamentary monarchy. Each of these states has its own autonomous institution, in Catalonia which is the Generalitat which is run by the President of the Generalitat, the Parliament and the Government of Catalonia, or the Executive Council. Although the history of Catalonia as an independent state dates back to Middle Ages, the first Geralitat of modern times was created in 1931 during the 2nd Spanish Republic and, more recently, with the transition to democracy, has been restored. For the most part it is the Catolonia Statuette autonomy defines the laws of the region and its relations with the State of Spain. The Statute of Autonomy replaces Sau statute which dates from 1979 and was adopted into law by a referendum held in June 2006.In terms of visit, the political center of the city is now Sant Jaume square. La Casa del la Ciutat where the seat of municipal government and the Palau de la Generalitat of Catalonia home Autnomous government are both placed in this square. The buildings themselves reflect the region's history, while the place is vast, open and attractive, a perfect place to soak up the atmosphere if the details are not for you. While the details are for you however, Palau de la Gernalist where the autonomous government of Catalonia is now underwent several stages of the renovation and expansion to create the fusion of styles seen in Gothic architecture including today, Renaissance and Baroque. Unfortunately, the visit is difficult because it is only open one day of the year to the public April 23rd! The Casa de la Ciutat, the seat of municipal government, is equally impressive with its fourteenth century architecture, are noted in particular its inner courtyard, the Salon de Cent, and the Salon de las Cronicas. Barcelona Accommodation is plentiful, but can be costly. There are cheaper hotels, good, but there are also a few who will take you on a tour. In this spirit, it is always a good idea to Barcelona in particular to take recommendations and seek comments on the hotel reservation.
