A History Of Troubled Varna

Varna has become a city until the First Balkan War and World War I, its economy has been severely affected by the temporary loss of its agricultural hinterland of southern Dobrogea to Romania (1913-16 and 1919-40). Varna is one of the few cities in Bulgaria with a positive population growth and new children on the opening day care centres. Bulgaria Varna is the 3rd largest city, and perhaps the best affluent.Varna still needs to be much cleaner and its sidewalks have mended but its a beautiful city to live and go to its European standard slowly but surely. In recent scholarship has suggested that the first Bulgarian capital is perhaps near Varna before rose to Pliska. One of the earliest centers of industrial development and the movement of workers from Bulgaria, Varna itself as the nation's main port of export, a leading producer of cereal and viticulture center, the seat of the nation's oldest institution of higher education outside Sofia, a popular place for festivals and events, and the country's de facto summer capital with the erection of Euxinograd royal summer palace (Currently, the Bulgarian government meets summer sessions at this location). With unification, Varna, Bulgaria became the third largest city and held that position on a regular basis during the following 120 years, while several cities have succeeded in the first, second and fourth places. As the number of vehicles has quadrupled since 1989, Varna became known for traffic jams, parking on the old city, but leaves narrow streets normally takes the sidewalks.Through its international airport of Varna and Golden Sands Resort is connected Sofia by air and by charter flights with many European cities. In 1878 Varna was finally liberated from Ottoman rule and became the largest seaport Bulgarian. Remians bulwark of Khan Asparuh can be seen near the famous Bridge Asparuh located in Lake Varna. There are two bus stations in Varna, a service of the region and a plus for connections in Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas, Plovdiv, Istanbul, Greece, Romania, Central and Western Europe. It was immediately countered by a Civic spontaneous protest on May 2 when nearly 2,000 residents of Varna signed a petition against the destruction of apparently random Sevastopol garden. The rumor going around town is that they want to build yet another businesscenter amenities in Varna (as there are not enough people at present) on this site. The beaches are at the end of the huge bay of Varna, and they are safe for swimming, without currents and calm waters.
